Located at Terrabella Nursery, so if you'd like to buy a plant after your coffee break, you'll have lots of choices. Parking can be difficult. Also, there are "sketchy folks" lurking around the area; be careful. Easy access to Highways 5 and 8; main thoroughfare in San Diego. Very Instagrammable Coffeehouse! ”

“ I highly recommend this unique coffee shop - it's fun, vibrant, and filled with good music and great vibes. A colleague suggested it, and my friend and I originally just stopped by for a quick caffeine boost. But this place went far beyond our expectations. The coffee was excellent, with creative flavors and beautiful presentation. Even though there was a long line, the service was fast - we waited only about 10 minutes. You can explore the connected green space filled with all kinds of plants - big, small, bold, delicate - there’s always one that will catch your heart. There are also lots of thoughtful, wish-related items and creative goods to browse. Parking can be a bit tight, but with a little patience, you'll find a spot. This spot is absolutely worth the visit! ”

“ This is a wonderful place and a must visit destination for people who visit San Diego. First coffee is good and they have a really nice menu from simple espresso to much more complicated drinks, second it may take longer than expected to get your coffee but I really enjoyed strolling around a nursery and buying new plants. Overall the place is crowded but they have a nice system of sending you messages when your order is ready. Definitely recommend checking it out. ”

“ I wish I lived in San Diego because I'd be at Selva every day. The vibe here is unreal. Since it's a combo coffee and plant shop, there are plants hanging everywhere, and it feels so dreamy. I've been on the hunt for Boston ferns since I moved to California, and most plant shops don't carry them, but Selva does. They're everywhere, and it makes the space feel whimsical. One of my favorite touches is the disco ball hanging over on the plant side. It's such a fun detail. My friend and I visited on a Monday afternoon and had no trouble finding parking. We did wait in line for about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. Our barista was so kind and gave great recommendations. We both got "The Queen," which was really tasty. It's not super matcha-heavy, but the strawberry flavor was still great. Seating is limited, but we were able to snag a table. One thing to note, if you buy a drink, you get 10% off at the plant shop, and if you buy a plant, you get 10% off your coffee. So depending on what you plan to get, it's worth thinking about where to start first. It also looks like they host events pretty regularly, which is awesome. I only live about an hour and a half away, so I'll definitely be back anytime I'm in the San Diego area. ”

It was an unexpected twist, as we were looking for coffee off the freeway in San Diego and landed in a tropical plant nursery meets popular coffee shop. You can find your favorite new house plants while sipping trendy sweet coffees & matcha under a giant disco ball at Selva Coffee House tucked inside Terra Bella Plant Nursery. With intimate tables spread throughout the dog-friendly cafe space, this is an ideal chill date activity or morning outing with friends. This is not a place you go when you’re in a rush. There was a line and a bit of a wait for our drinks, and we were originally told upon ordering it should take 25 minutes. We arrived at 10:44am, finished ordering at 10:53am, and got our drinks at 11:38am. While you wait in line at the coffee shop, you get to look at plants and their merchandise tables, full of trendy gifts. I ended up buying 4 cute wavy iridescent glass straws as gifts, 5/each, 20 total, because I was looking at them so much while waiting in line. I wanted to use them as straws for our cold drinks immediately, but then realized that other people in line had been touching them and they need to be washed first. If you like lush plants and sweet coffee, you’ll want to save this for your next morning activity in San Diego. They’re known for their sweeter specialty drinks, including both sweet matcha and sweet coffees. You can get your drink less-sweet, which is what I did and it was still more than sweet enough for me. I ordered a half-sweet version of their Flying Solo iced latte (6.90) with blueberry puree, espresso, and oat milk, and when the coffee mixed with the milk and blueberry, it made my drink a greenish color and it almost looked like I was drinking matcha! My boyfriend got the Strawberry Syrup Lemonade (5.90) and it was ready at the same time as my drink. I appreciate that they don’t have an additional charge for alternative milks, and their milk options include: whole, 2%, oat, almond, soy, and coconut. You can add Cloud Cream in a variety of flavors to any drink for 1. They also have their own free parking lot & events! ”
